Keeping Your Whitening Bright for Years

The aftercare routine our hygienists give every whitening patient.

The first 48 hours decide everything.

Freshly whitened enamel is porous. For two days, stick to the “white diet” — chicken, rice, potatoes, white fish, milk — and avoid coffee, red wine, turmeric and tobacco. Sensitivity toothpaste before bed calms the nerves.

Daily habits that hold the shade.

Rinse with water after staining drinks, use a straw for coffee, and brush twice daily with a low-abrasion whitening paste. An electric brush with a pressure sensor prevents the gum recession that exposes darker root surfaces.

Top-ups beat re-dos.

Every Aurora whitening includes custom trays and top-up gel. One overnight session every 3–4 months maintains brightness indefinitely — far cheaper and gentler than repeating full in-chair treatment yearly.

When to call us instead.

Blotchy patches, single dark teeth or sensitivity lasting beyond a week signal something whitening can't fix — decay, leaking fillings or enamel defects. Book a checkup; aesthetics should never mask pathology.
